Rectal prolapse
The complete rectal prolapse, defined by the trans-anal protrusion of the circumferential mucous and muscular rectum, is frequently associated in women during middle age, through passed defecation disorders and sometimes obstetric trauma.
Its mechanism, long considered as a weak rectum hernia through the anus, is now in the majority of cases, interpreted as the consequence of a previous intussusception due to the loss of posterior pelvic rectal moorings. Through P. Valleur’s concept, the mechanism is not well understood mostly by younger men.
