Rectocele

A rectocele is a hernia of the rectal wall towards the vagina.

This results in a vault of the vaginal wall.

Depending on its size and position, it is accompanied by severe constipation, fecal incontinence and diarrhea overflow, dyspareunia, urinary problems or pelvic pain.

Surgery involves correcting the rectal vaginal wall through an incision in the vaginal opening.

In the case of fecal incontinence, a sphincter correction is needed.
